S. Viets: Capstone Portfolio Wiki

This wiki is the culmination of my VHS studies in Becoming an Online Teacher. It contains my reflections on teaching and learning both in F2F classes and in Online Classes. The purpose of this portfolio is to reflect on my teaching at present and on the learning that I have done with respect to integrating online resources and 21st century skills into my curriculum. My intended audience is my group of colleagues at VHS as well as myself, as I’m not sure where I’ll end up at the end of this endeavor. It has artifacts that reflect good practices in the classroom and online that encourage critical thinking, learning, collaboration and the incorporation of technological resources. There are good practices that involve technology as well as activities that do not. My philosophy is that good teaching includes all types of activities and I do not plan to throw out all the activities I have been doing for the last 16 years. Please see my blog where I've reflected on my Online Teaching Assistant assignment: **http://vietsville.blogspot.com/**

My goals at this point are to reflect on my current teaching practice and really think about where I can integrate 21st century skills while enhancing my current curriculum. I want to find ways to do this without sacrificing the content that I need to deliver - ie - they need to be able to speak Spanish at the end of it all. I want to migrate much of the content into a technological format that is pleasing to students and motivates them to take part in a real way - not just a fulfilling the homework requirements way. This is my overall goal - to come up with ideas that will work.

http://vietsville.blogspot.com/.
